Minecraft Christmas Skins: 14 Free Originals, Sweaters to Santa

Here are 14 free Christmas Minecraft skins we drew ourselves: three ugly sweaters, a Santa suit, two elves, a reindeer hoodie, a snowman with twig arms, a gingerbread pal, a nutcracker, a cookie baker, cozy plaid pyjamas and a matching sweater pair for two. Each one is a 64×64 PNG you can download without an account and wear on Java or Bedrock.
They suit anyone who wants a festive look for December servers, holiday builds or a cosy screenshot with friends. Skip them if you want a licensed holiday character from a film or show. Those belong to their owners, so every skin here is our own design.

The Christmas pack at a glance
Most Christmas skin pages show user uploads, and you rarely know who drew them or whether you're allowed to edit them. This locker is smaller and fully original, and it's sorted by occasion. There are sweaters for everyday December play, full costumes for events, and a pair for two players. Below are six of them from the front and the back. Festive skins get judged from behind as often as from the front, because that's what your friends see while you're mining.
Ugly sweaters
An ugly Christmas sweater is the easiest festive skin to wear all month, because it's an outfit rather than a costume. Zigzag Ugly Sweater is red knit with white zigzag rows top and bottom, two green bands and a single cream pom on the chest. Snowflake Sweater is pine green with one big white snowflake front and back and red cuffs. Tiny Trees Sweater is navy with two little pixel pines, each topped with a yellow star, on a long-haired wearer.
The patterns repeat on the back of each sweater, so your friends see the knit while you walk ahead of them. That's where most quick holiday skins fall short: the front gets all the detail and the back is a flat colour. The arms carry zigzags or cuffs too, so the sweater still reads as knitwear when you're holding a pickaxe.
Santa, elves and reindeer
For a full costume, Santa Suit has the red coat with a white centre trim, a black belt with a gold buckle, black gloves and boots, a long white beard spilling onto the chest and a red hat with a white brim and pom. Cookie Baker is the gentler version: a red dress, a flour-dusted apron and a silver bun.
The two elves are built to be worn together. Workshop Elf has a green tunic with a red pointed collar, candy-stripe legs, a green cap with a red band and a hint of pointed ears on the sides of the head. Ribbon Elf has long red hair with a bow, a green dress and striped tights. Reindeer Hoodie is a brown hoodie with felt antlers and a bright red nose for a costume with a face that still reads as you.
The snowman, gingerbread and nutcracker are whole-body costumes. Stick-Arm Snowman is three white snowballs with a carrot nose, coal buttons, a red scarf, a black top hat and twig arms, the one silly skin in the pack. Gingerbread Pal is baked brown with icing squiggles at the wrists and ankles and two gumdrop buttons. Nutcracker Guard has the tall black hat, a red coat with gold buttons and shoulder trim, white gloves and a square white beard over clenched teeth. Cozy PJs has red-and-green plaid with fluffy slippers and a droopy nightcap.
Matching couple and friend sets
Twin Sweater: Red and Twin Sweater: Green are one design in swapped colours. Both have the cream heart on the chest, cream trim at the neck, hem and cuffs, and a snowflake on the back, so the pair reads as a set from either side. One has short hair and one has long hair. Upload either one with the Classic or the Slim arm model, whichever you prefer.
For a bigger group, mix and match. The two elves make a pair, and so do Santa and the Cookie Baker. The three sweaters work as a family set because they share a knit style without being identical. If you want more pairs that aren't seasonal, the matching Minecraft skins collection has year-round sets.
Slim or Classic arms?
Every skin here is drawn on the standard 64×64 sheet, and you choose the arm model when you apply it. The skins also look fine on Slim arms. Slim arms are 3 pixels wide instead of 4, so the game skips one column of pixels on each arm. A pattern that touches that column loses a pixel, but the cuffs and zigzags here are wide bands, so they still read after the switch. If you want to know what a sheet actually holds, our 64×64 Minecraft skins explainer lays out every region.
Make one of these your own
Because every file here is ours to give away, you're free to change it. The quickest edit is a recolour. Swap the red sweater to your team colour, turn the snowman's scarf blue, or give the gingerbread pink icing. The next easiest is a face transplant: copy the 8×8 head front from your usual skin onto the Santa or elf body, and your friends will still recognise you under the costume.
If you'd rather start from a blank, ugly sweaters are the friendliest first project. The body front is only 8 pixels wide and 12 tall, so one zigzag row and one motif fill it. Put the same motif on the back, add a contrasting cuff to each arm, and you've got a festive skin in an evening. Our guide to designing your own Minecraft skin covers the template and layers if you've never opened a skin editor.
Free holiday packs from Mojang
Mojang has published holiday-themed skin packs before. The Minecraft Wiki's skin pack history lists a Holiday Skin Pack 2015 for the old Pocket Edition and a Festive Mash-up pack on the legacy console editions. As of 10 Oct 2026 we found no announced free holiday pack for 2026, so we're not promising one. If Mojang does release one, the Marketplace is where to look for it.
Festive Marketplace packs from creator studios are paid with Minecoins. Their prices change, so we don't quote them. A paid pack makes most sense on a console, where you can't import a PNG at all. If that's you, the official Minecraft Marketplace has seasonal packs. Affiliate link: a purchase may send a small commission our way, with no change to what you pay. On PC or phone, the free files above do the same job.
When to switch, and switching back
Christmas skins are a December thing, so plan the swap back as well as the swap in. On Java your new upload replaces your current skin, so save your usual PNG somewhere safe before you change. In January, you can re-upload it in the Minecraft Launcher's Skins tab or on your minecraft.net profile. On Bedrock for Windows or mobile, import the festive PNG from the Dressing Room's Classic Skins tab. Your regular look stays in the Dressing Room's slots, which makes swapping back quicker. The install guide walks through both editions.
If a friend on Bedrock can't see your custom skin, they may have Only Allow Trusted Skins switched on. Microsoft's creator documentation puts that setting under Settings > General. Console players can't import custom PNGs themselves, and servers that bridge Java and Bedrock players can show some of them a default skin instead of yours, so don't plan a group photo around it.
