How SkinStash makes money, and how little of it touches the skins. Last reviewed 9 September 2026.

The skins on SkinStash are free, and downloading them earns us nothing. That's worth stating plainly, because it shapes how honest this page can be: our skins are the product, and they're given away. Any money the site makes comes from a small number of clearly labelled affiliate links that have nothing to do with the downloads.

Only two things we ever link earn a commission: the official Minecraft Marketplace, and Minecoins gift cards through a reseller. Both are things you'd buy from the game or a store anyway — Marketplace add-ons and the in-game currency — not anything we made. Every affiliate link on the site is routed through our /go/ path and marked so search engines see it as sponsored.

Minecraft's own affiliate programme launched on 1 June 2026 through the Impact network and pays roughly 5% on qualifying Marketplace and Minecoins purchases made after clicking through. Reseller cards typically pay a low single-digit percentage. If we're accepted into these programmes, the links carry our tracking; until then they simply point to the official pages. Either way, they cost you nothing extra.

We do not link scams, "free generator" pages, or account sellers, even though some pay well. Those target a young audience and trade in things that aren't theirs to sell, and no commission is worth putting in front of readers. That's a permanent policy, not a phase.

How it affects what you read

It doesn't. We don't rank or recommend a skin because of a link — the skins are all ours and all free. The affiliate links exist only so the occasional reader who was going to buy Minecoins anyway can do it in a way that helps keep the lights on. If that ever felt like it was steering the content, we'd drop it.
